I will overwhelm 'legitimate fighter' Jake Paul - Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

The British boxer is set to fight the American YouTuber in an eight-bout contest which will be streamed live on Netflix.

Briton Joshua said he will "stamp all over" the American and "overpower" his opponent as the combatants confronted each other to build hype for the upcoming heavyweight fight.

Ex twice unified title holder Joshua faces social media star turned fighter Paul - in what is, on paper, a massive mismatch - at Miami arena on December 19th.

Boxer's Attitude

"I'm going to injure his face and break his body up. I'm here to prove my superiority," Joshua, 35, stated.

"I plan to overwhelm him. That's how fighters think.

"I will genuinely try to hurt him. That's my goal."

Respectful Interaction

Despite such comments, a relaxed Anthony Joshua and social media star Paul - normally recognized for his theatrics - shared friendly words and maintained decorum with each other.

Jake Paul instead targeted former Joshua's opponent the Cameroonian fighter and described him as "ridiculous" after the Cameroonian declined a bout proposal.

Targeting Tyson Fury

Anthony Joshua, at the same time, criticized UK opponent Fury - and refused a million-pound wager 'Tyson Fury' states he will put on a Paul victory.

"Jake Paul is superior to Fury - he's actually sitting here," the boxer commented.

"I respect him for that."

Legitimate Opponent

Despite declaring he will damage his opponent, Joshua declined to speak negatively about his opponent's pugilistic talent.

"Jake is a credible opponent," he stated.

Jake Paul's Background

Jake Paul - who first rose to fame on the Disney Channel - has mainly fought mixed martial artists or past-their-prime fighters since becoming pro.

He was defeated by British fighter Tommy Fury in 2023.

Financial Attraction

Nevertheless, the relative newcomer is still one of boxing's greatest commercial attractions, regularly earning massive paydays.

Prediction and Confidence

The 28-year-old anticipated a stoppage in round four or five and stated he would derail the much-anticipated Joshua–Fury fight, which is apparently in the works for two years from now.

"The next fight will be my match with Fury next year," Paul said.

Size Difference

As both boxers met for the usual face-off, with their height and weight contrast evident, it drove home just how surprising this entire matchup is - and how astonishing it is that the fight is truly going ahead.
