Two Arrests Following London Heathrow Irritant Spray Incident

Two more people are now in custody in connection with a theft at Heathrow Airport in which over twenty individuals were injured by what is thought to be an irritant spray, as stated by law enforcement.

A man, 24, was taken into custody in Lambeth on suspicion of theft and assault and a 23-year-old woman was detained for suspected conspiring to commit a robbery. Both individuals are still being held, the force said.

These detentions come after a probe into an attack at the multi-level parking garage at Heathrow's Terminal 3 on Sunday. Before the incident, a pair of female travelers had stolen from them their luggage after getting out of a car park lift.

A three-year-old girl was one of the those hurt in the event. Five people were taken to the hospital for treatment and were later discharged.

Police arrested a man in his thirties on suspicion of robbery and assault near the scene. He has since been released under investigation as the investigation proceeds.

Authorities were alerted at approximately 8:10 in the morning GMT following reports of a number of individuals injured by an irritating chemical thought to be pepper spray.

The attack - which authorities stated was isolated and not considered terrorism - caused train delays and the temporary shutdown of the main airport tunnel and the Terminal 3 parking facility for a short time.
